The Foreign Graduate Degree Grant established by SHTCM is mainly to support outstanding international students applying for full-time graduate programs at SHTCM.

I. Application Qualifications

1. Foreign nationals in good health; 2. Abide by Chinese laws and university rules; 3. Full-time graduate students with a correct attitude and excellent academic performance; 4. Not holding a Chinese Government Scholarship (excluding the Chinese Government Excellent Self-funded Student Scholarship), Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship, or the SHTCM Foreign Graduate Discipline Grant (full award).

II. Grant Amount and Content

1. Grant categories and standards: SHTCM Foreign Graduate Degree Grant has three categories A, B and C. Category A: 8,000 RMB; Category B: 6,000 RMB; Category C: 4,000 RMB.
2. Target recipients: ① For international students applying for SHTCM full-time master's programs, with the following degrees/qualifications before enrollment: Category A: already hold 2 or more master's degrees (including dual master's programs) or a doctoral degree — one-time grant of 8,000 RMB; Category B: already hold a master's degree — one-time grant of 6,000 RMB; Category C: outstanding SHTCM undergraduate graduates with GPA ≥ 3.0, selected by the grant review panel — one-time grant of 4,000 RMB. ② For international students applying for SHTCM doctoral programs: Category A: full-time doctoral students who already hold a doctoral degree before enrollment — 8,000 RMB; Category B: SHTCM master's graduates (including seven-year program) or those with two or more master's degrees applying for full-time doctoral study, and those with one doctoral or two or more master's degrees applying for part-time doctoral study — 6,000 RMB; Category C: full-time doctoral students who already hold a master's degree in TCM, medicine or science (pharmacy) from another university (including foreign universities), with research experience or important academic papers — 4,000 RMB.

III. Application Materials

1. Original or notarized highest academic (degree) certificate. Current students must submit an enrollment certificate and supplement the original after admission. Non-Chinese/English texts need a notarized translation. 2. Copies of research experience and achievements. 3. Applicants must guarantee authenticity; falsification cancels eligibility, with all consequences borne by the applicant. 4. Incomplete materials will not be accepted; materials are not returned regardless of admission.

IV. Application Time

Application deadline: March 15, 2018.

V. Grant Review

1. The university forms a grant review committee to examine materials. 2. The committee may examine applicants by interview, phone interview, email, etc. 3. Results are notified to applicants in writing promptly.

VI. Notes

1. After enrollment, the International Student Office publicizes the grant recipients for the academic year for no less than 3 working days; the published list is announced by the office after college review. 2. Students must pay full annual tuition before the pre-enrollment grant is disbursed; if punished or withdrawn before disbursement, the current year's grant is cancelled. 3. Jointly-trained graduate students follow the cooperation agreement.

VII. Others

These rules take effect from the date of promulgation and apply from the 2016 intake. Interpretation rights belong to SHTCM.
