The "SHTCM International Student Major Scholarship" is awarded to international students studying Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) (English-taught) and Clinical Medicine of Chinese and Western Integration (English-taught).

I. Applicant Qualifications

1. Self-funded international undergraduate students in years 1–5 of Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) (English-taught) or Clinical Medicine of Chinese and Western Integration (English-taught); 2. First-year self-funded undergraduates of the above majors may apply directly; 3. Except first-year, applicants must have outstanding performance and actively participate in university activities; 4. Except first-year, must have completed 100% of required credits of the previous academic year's (except first year after transfer) guided teaching plan; 5. May not be held simultaneously with various Chinese Government Scholarships (excluding the Chinese Government Excellent Self-funded Student Scholarship) or the Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship.

II. Award Amount

1. Category A: Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture), 12,000 RMB, up to 5 years. 2. Category B: Clinical Medicine of Chinese and Western Integration, 8,000 RMB, up to 5 years.

III. Implementation Steps

1. At the beginning of each academic year, the International Student Office reviews and publicizes the major scholarship recipients for no less than 3 working days. 2. The published list is announced by the office after college review. 3. Students must pay full annual tuition before the major scholarship is disbursed; scholarship is suspended during leave of absence and not retroactively paid, resuming after return. Before disbursement, those punished for violating laws or rules, or who withdraw, or fail to cooperate with assessment, lose the scholarship.

IV. Others

The revised rules apply from September 2017 for Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture) (English-taught) and Clinical Medicine of Chinese and Western Integration (English-taught) from the 2017 intake. Interpretation rights belong to SHTCM.
