The SHTCM International Student "Inspirational Grant" encourages outstanding full-time foreign undergraduate students at SHTCM.

I. Applicant Qualifications

1. Foreign nationals in good health; 2. Excellent character and academics; 3. New students applying for undergraduate majors apply before enrollment, generally under 30; 4. May not be held simultaneously with those holding a Chinese Government Scholarship (excluding the Excellent Self-funded Student Scholarship), Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship, various SHTCM pre-enrollment scholarships, or the SHTCM "Living Allowance"; 5. May be held simultaneously with the SHTCM International Student Major Scholarship.

II. Grant Amount

14,000 RMB per academic year, up to 5 years.

III. Application Materials

1. Highest academic certificate; 2. Academic transcript from the graduating school; 3. Recommendation letter from the graduating school; 4. Student self-statement (including study plan in China); 5. Non-ethnic-Chinese students must provide one HSK certificate; 6. All materials must be in Chinese or English, other languages need notarized translation; 7. Applicants must guarantee authenticity, falsification cancels eligibility; 8. Unsuccessful applicants' materials are not returned.

IV. Application Time

Application deadline: June 15 each year.

V. Grant Review

1. The university forms a grant review committee to examine materials. 2. The committee may examine by interview, phone interview, email, etc., granting to the best. 3. Results are notified in writing promptly.

VI. Annual Review

1. Applied before enrollment; first year mainly based on submitted materials, later years require annual review. The university comprehensively reviews academic performance, attitude, attendance, conduct, and rewards/punishments of the previous year; those passing may continue, those failing are suspended or cancelled from the next year. 2. The grant recipient's previous-year overall academic score must rank in the top 20% of the grade and complete all required course credits. 3. At the beginning of each academic year, the office reviews and publicizes the grant recipients for no less than 3 working days; the published list is announced after college review. 4. Students must pay full annual tuition before the inspirational grant is disbursed; if punished or withdrawn before disbursement, the current year's grant is cancelled.

VII. Others

This plan is implemented from September 2015, from the 2015 intake. Interpretation rights belong to SHTCM.
