Wuhan Textile University

Wuhan Textile University has four campuses and is committed to building a first-class teaching environment. It has more than 20,000 students, 21 teaching departments and offers 64 undergraduate programs, including 4 national characteristic programs.

Wuhan Textile University has nearly 2,000 staff members, including over 1,000 full-time teachers, more than 500 PHDS and 45 doctoral supervisors. The university has seven academicians and foreign academicians, three people selected for the National Thousand Talents Program, two national talents selected for the New Century Hundred Thousand Talents Project, one leading talent of the first batch of the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, one distinguished professor of the Changjiang Scholars Program, one recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and twelve people selected for the Hubei Province Hundred Talents Program. There are 105 "Chutian Scholars Program" candidates and a group of "Sunshine Scholars" with overseas study backgrounds.

The university has successively undertaken more than 100 major research projects at the national and provincial levels, including national fund projects, "973" projects, "863" projects and key support programs. A number of research achievements have reached the advanced level at home and abroad, and it is leading in research in textile, printing and dyeing, clothing and art. In recent years, the university has won one first prize and two second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as two second prizes of the National Invention Award.

The school has made great efforts to enhance international exchanges and cooperation. Focus on introducing high-quality foreign educational resources, actively develop international student education, and continuously enhance the level of internationalization. Wuhan Textile University Birmingham College of Fashion and Creativity, the first non-independent legal entity cooperative education institution at the undergraduate level in Hubei Province, has carried out undergraduate cooperative education programs with the University of Manchester in the UK and Bunka Gakuen University in Japan, and jointly trained doctoral students with Deacon University in Australia. It has signed international exchange and cooperation agreements with nearly 200 universities in France, the United States, Australia, Russia, Japan and other countries. The university has long hosted the international training program on Trade in Services for Developing Countries, jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. It has been approved for several projects of the "World Famous Scientists Lecture Program in Hubei" and has hosted and organized various large-scale international academic conferences for many consecutive years. The internationalization process of the university has been steadily advancing.

Since 2010, the school has held influential international textile and fashion events in fields such as the Wuhan International Fashion Week, the International Forum on Modern Textile Technology, the International Symposium on 3D Fabrics and Applications, and the China-Russia Higher Education Forum. In addition, the school successfully hosted the 89th World Textile Congress, the highest-level conference in the field of textiles.

The school has established partnerships with nearly 50 universities and research institutions, including those in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Italy, etc. Every year, the school sends outstanding teachers and students to overseas universities for exchange visits, such as the University of California, Davis in the United States, the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts Moderne in France, Bunka Gakuen University in Japan, etc.
