Hunan Normal University

Hunan Normal University, founded in 1938, is located in Changsha, a historic and cultural city. It is a key university under the "211 Project", a university under the "Double First-Class" initiative, and a key university under the "Double First-Class" initiative jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Hunan Province. The university covers an area of nearly 3,000 mu.

The school has nearly 3,600 staff members, including more than 2,300 full-time teachers. Among them, there is one academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, four academicians of the European Academy of Sciences, three members of The State Council's discipline evaluation group, and one member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. There are more than 40,000 students on campus, including more than 14,000 postgraduate students and nearly 1,000 international students for long and short periods.

The university has 24 colleges and offers 87 undergraduate programs. Undergraduate and postgraduate education covers 12 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, art and interdisciplinary studies. The university has six national key disciplines, namely ethics, English language and literature, modern and contemporary Chinese history, developmental biology, theoretical physics, and basic mathematics.
