Central South University is located in Changsha, Hunan Province, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It covers an area of 3.17 million square meters and is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It ranks 96th in the world and 13th in China in the Academic Ranking of World Universities by Shanghairanking.
The university offers a wide range of disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, art, and interdisciplinary studies. The university has 33 secondary colleges, three large tertiary grade A general hospitals and Xiangya Stomatological Hospital. It has more than 64,000 full-time students, including 2,000 international students from over 110 countries.
