Changchun University of Science and Technology was founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1958. For more than 60 years, adhering to the science and engineering spirit of "aiming high, being strong and self-reliant, integrating knowledge and action, and pursuing excellence", Changchun University of Science and Technology has now developed into a key teaching and research university with a focus on optoelectronic technology and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including engineering, science, literature, economics, management, law and art. It is known as "the cradle of optical talents in China", and its discipline of optical engineering has always been at the forefront. The university has strong research capabilities in technology fields such as lasers, optoelectronic instruments, detection, communication, advanced manufacturing, computer applications, optoelectronic functional materials, nanomaterials, biomedical engineering, and has achieved remarkable results in humanities and social sciences research fields such as economics, management, law, and Chinese language and literature.
Changchun University of Science and Technology has a strong faculty with an international perspective, led by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and adheres to the motto of "Virtue, Learning, Truth, Innovation" to cultivate high-quality professionals with innovative spirit and engineering application ability. The university has 9 postdoctoral research stations, 38 doctoral programs, 102 master's programs and 58 undergraduate programs. It has a total of 26,196 students, including 947 doctoral students, 6,340 master's students and 18,794 undergraduate students.
Changchun University of Science and Technology has a network of educational cooperation and academic relations covering Europe, America, Asia and Africa. It has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 100 universities and research institutions in more than 20 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Nigeria. Over the years, more than 3,000 international students from 106 countries have come to study at the university.
