Guangxi Normal University

After 85 years of development, Guangxi Normal University has become a comprehensive university with a distinct teacher education feature, with both liberal arts and science disciplines ranking among the top 100 in the country and extensive international exchanges and cooperation.

The university is rich in history and culture. Guangxi Normal University, formerly known as Guangxi Provincial Teachers College, is the beginning of higher normal education in Guangxi and one of the earliest higher normal schools in China.

The school's teaching staff is of high quality. As of September 2016, there were 1,595 full-time teachers. Among them, 857 held senior professional titles, accounting for 53.73%, and 1,403 held master's degrees or above, accounting for 87.96%. There were more than 100 high-level talents at the national, provincial and ministerial levels or above.

The school has achieved abundant research results. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the number of research projects and research funds of the university increased significantly. It obtained 2,122 research projects at all levels and of all types, including 317 national-level projects such as the National 863 Program, the National 973 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the National Social Science Foundation. 1,158 academic papers were indexed by SCI and other three major indexes. 159 awards for scientific research achievements at or above the provincial and ministerial level were received.

The school has extensive international exchanges. It has established cooperative exchange relations with over 200 universities and institutions in more than 40 countries and regions, and has three Confucius Institutes overseas. The university is the only Ministry of Education demonstration Base for international students in Guangxi, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council Chinese Language Education Base, and the recipient of the Ministry of Education's "Chinese Government Scholarship", the Confucius Institute Scholarship of the Office of Chinese Language International Promotion, and the Guangxi Government's "ASEAN Scholarship" for international students. Over the past 10 years, it has received more than 15,000 long-term and short-term international students from over 60 countries.
