Hefei University of Technology is a key national university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People 's republic of China, located in Hefei, the capital city of anhui Province. Founded in 1945, the university was approved as a national key university by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1960, became a key university under the "211 Project" in 2005, a university under the "985 Project" with an innovation platform for advantageous disciplines in 2009, and was included in the "Double First-Class" initiative in 2017.
With the aspiration of "serving the country through industry", the school adheres to the motto of "Virtue, Diligence, Practicality and Innovation", and has formed the characteristics of talent cultivation of "solid engineering foundation, practical work style and strong entrepreneurial ability". The school currently has more than 33,000 full-time undergraduate students, more than 17,000 master's and doctoral students, and more than 2,400 full-time teachers.
Hefei University of Technology is a university with engineering as its main discipline and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Twelve of the university's disciplines (Engineering, materials science, chemistry, computer science, agricultural science, physics, earth science, environmental/ecology, biology and biochemistry, General Social Sciences, pharmacology and toxicology, plant and animal science) are in the top 1% of ESI global rankings, with engineering in the top 0.04%. The university has 22 colleges, 84 undergraduate programs, 38 first-level disciplines for master's degrees, and 20 first-level disciplines for doctoral degrees.
