Founded in 1898, Peking University is China 's first national comprehensive university and now has seven faculties: Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Information Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Economics and Management, and Faculty of Medicine.
