The university has 21 teaching and research units (School of Journalism, School of Television, School of Communication, School of Drama and Film, School of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, School of Animation and Digital Arts, School of Music and Recording Arts, School of Art Research, School of Information and Communication Engineering, School of Computer and Cyberspace Security, School of Data Science and Intelligent Media, School of Humanities, School of Foreign Languages and Cultures The Department of Physical Education, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Advertising, the School of Cultural Industry Management, the School of Marxism, the School of Government and Public Affairs, Hainan International College, and the Center for Collaborative Innovation, as well as affiliated units such as the School of Continuing Education (Higher Vocational and Technical College), the School of International Media Education, and the Institute of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind. There are more than 18,000 full-time students, including more than 11,600 regular full-time undergraduate and junior college students and more than 6,500 doctoral and master's students.
The school has established exchange and cooperation relations with more than 200 well-known foreign universities, research institutions and media organizations. The university has established the International Alliance for Higher Education in Media with international influence, and has established international academic research institutions such as the Institute of the Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, the Asian Media Research Center, the European Media Research Center, and is a UNESCO Chair on Media and Women. High-level international academic conferences hosted by our university, such as the Asian Media Forum, the World University Presidents Forum, and the China Communication Forum, have become important platforms for exchanges in the international media and higher education communities.
The university has a media museum, an advertising museum, an oral history museum, a Chinese animation art exhibition hall, and is one of the campuses with the most museums among Beijing's universities.
