University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS for short) was founded in 1978. Its predecessor was the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was the first graduate school in new China approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and The State Council. It produced the first Doctor of Science, the first Doctor of Engineering, the first female doctor, and the first double degree doctor in new China. The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is a research-oriented university with a focus on postgraduate education and a distinctive feature of integrating science and education. The university adheres to the educational policy of "integration of science and education" and is highly integrated with the research institutions affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences in terms of management system, faculty, training system and research work. As of October 2017, the school had 3,034 teachers; There were 10,170 graduate supervisors in service, including 285 academicians and 6,039 doctoral supervisors. 1,447 undergraduate students; 47,000 graduate students, 52% of whom are doctoral students; There are 1,517 foreign students studying abroad, including 1,011 foreign doctoral students, ranking first in the country.

Ucas shares resources from the Library and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and has a rich collection of electronic documents. Based on the extensive international scientific and technological cooperation platform of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, UCAS has established close ties and partnerships with the Max Planck Society of Germany, the French National Center for Scientific Research, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, and more than 60 world-renowned universities. It has also jointly established the China-Denmark Institute with the Danish Ministry of Science and Education and eight universities. In addition, UCAS has a strong cultural atmosphere of education.
