China Agricultural University is one of the key national universities under the Ministry of Education, and its president is appointed by the central people 's government. China Agricultural University is the oldest agricultural university in China, with its history dating back to the agricultural university of the Imperial University of Peking (now Peking University), which was established in October 1905 during the Qing Dynasty. The university has two campuses, the east and the west, covering an area of 133 hectares. After a century of ups and downs, China Agricultural University has developed into a research-oriented university with distinctive features and strengths in agriculture, life sciences, agricultural engineering and food science, forming a cluster of disciplines with distinct features and complementary strengths in agriculture and life sciences, resources and environmental sciences, information and computer sciences, agricultural engineering and automation sciences, economics and management and social sciences.

China Agricultural University has a complete education system that offers bachelor's, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral degrees. Undergraduate education is offered in 16 colleges at the university, while master's and doctoral education is managed by the Graduate School, which is the first of all agricultural colleges in China. The university has 15 postdoctoral research stations, 95 doctoral programs and 144 master's programs; There are 65 undergraduate programs, among which biology and chemistry are listed as "National Base for Research and Education of Basic Sciences". 11,395 full-time undergraduate students and 7,661 full-time postgraduate students, including 4,478 full-time master's students and 3,183 full-time doctoral students; There are 215 postdoctoral researchers in station. There are currently 12 master's programs and 11 doctoral programs at the university that are taught in English. Foreign students in other programs need to reach a certain level of Chinese proficiency before registration.

China Agricultural University has a strong and well-structured faculty. There are 1,654 full-time faculty members, including 5 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 588 professors and 852 associate professors. At present, China Agricultural University has three national key laboratories, one national engineering laboratory, two national engineering technology research centers and 91 provincial and ministerial key laboratories.

China Agricultural University has extensive international exchanges and cooperation, and has established cooperative relations with 209 universities and research institutions in 41 countries and regions. The university has several joint research centers, international education, research and training institutions, and actively expands various exchange programs with overseas universities to cultivate students' international vision and innovative spirit. So far, students of different types and levels from more than 80 countries and regions in Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Oceania have been admitted to study at the university.
