Central University of Finance and Economics is a university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the Beijing Municipal Government. It is a university included in the "Double First-Class" initiative, the "211 Project" and the first batch of "Innovative Platform for Discipline Advantage" projects. Founded on November 6, 1949, it is the first new type of higher finance and economics institution established by the central People's Government after the founding of the People's Republic of China. After nearly 70 years of development, it has formed a discipline system with economics, management and law as the main disciplines and coordinated development of literature, philosophy, science, engineering, education, art and other disciplines.
The school offers 50 undergraduate programs, with the right to independently set up undergraduate programs in economics and management, and has 8 national characteristic program construction points and 7 Beijing characteristic program construction points; It has a first-level national key discipline in applied economics and a second-level national key discipline in accounting; It has a first-level discipline of business administration, a first-level discipline of statistics, a second-level discipline of political economy, a study of Sinicization of Marxism, a second-level discipline of world economy, and an interdisciplinary discipline of economic information management and management of multinational corporations. It has first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points in applied economics, theoretical economics, business administration and statistics, 31 second-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 76 second-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 13 professional degree authorization points including master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Accounting and Master of laws. Among them, the three professional degrees of business administration, accounting and law were approved as the comprehensive reform pilot project of professional degree postgraduate education by the Ministry of Education in 2010, and the secretariat of the National Steering Committee for Research and Education of Professional Degrees in Insurance and Asset Appraisal is located in our university; It has 17 national-level and Beijing-level excellent courses, 6 national-level open video courses and 2 national-level excellent resource sharing courses; It has received six national teaching achievement awards and 30 Beijing teaching achievement awards. It has five postdoctoral research stations in applied economics, Theoretical economics, business administration, Marxist theory, statistics, etc. It has one of the first five pilot projects of the National Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform, namely the Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform of Economics and Public Policy; It has the key research Institute of Humanities and social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, the Institute of Actuarial Science, and the first research base of philosophy and social sciences in Beijing, the Beijing Finance and Economics Research Base.
For a long time, the school has attached great importance to the development of its faculty. A total of 42 people from the school have become experts enjoying special government allowances from The State Council. Among the middle-aged and young backbone teachers, the school has two "Thousand Talents Program" recipients, seven Changjiang Scholars, two national teaching masters, four "New Century Hundred Thousand Talents Project National Candidates", members of the Social Sciences Committee of the Ministry of Education, and "New Century Excellent Support Talents" of the Ministry of Education, among other outstanding talents. The school was among the first batch of humanities and social sciences institutions to implement the "Chang Jiang Scholars Program". The school has three national-level teaching teams and seven Beijing outstanding teaching teams.
With the rapid advancement of economic globalization, the school has implemented an internationalization strategy and vigorously carried out various forms and levels of international exchanges and cooperation. It has established close cooperative relations with 126 institutions including universities, government agencies, international organizations and multinational enterprises across five continents of the world. Since 2006, as part of the national foreign aid program to train senior government officials in developing countries, the school has been entrusted by the central government to train 730 senior government officials from 91 developing countries, and has received wide acclaim. The school is one of the first 46 universities to participate in the National Program for Supporting High-level University Students to study abroad. In 2005 and 2007, the university became one of the universities in China that accepts government scholarships for international students and another that accepts Chinese government scholarships for international students.
