Shenyang University of Technology

Shenyang University of Technology is located in Shenyang, a modern central city in northeast China. Shenyang is the political, economic, financial, cultural, transportation, information and tourism center of Northeast China, with distinct four seasons, beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage. It is also the most important heavy industrial base in China and is known as the "Ruhr of the East". Shenyang is located in the Mandarin language area and is an ideal place to learn Chinese.

Shenyang University of Technology is a multi-disciplinary research and applied university with engineering as its main focus, covering eight disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy and art. The university was founded in 1949 and consists of three campuses: the Central Campus in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, the National University Science Park, and the Liaoyang Campus in Liaoyang, Liaoning Province. The university covers a total area of 1.5899 million square meters and has the authority to confer bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. It has one national key second-level discipline (Electrical Machinery and Electrical appliances) and four key construction first-class disciplines of first-class universities in Liaoning Province (Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrument Science and Technology). There are four postdoctoral research stations in electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and instrument science and Technology. There are 5 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees and 13 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees. There are five professional degree categories: Master of Engineering, Master of Accounting, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Engineering Management (MEM), and Master of Finance. Among them, Master of Engineering includes 13 fields. In 2010, it was approved as a pilot unit for comprehensive reform of professional degree postgraduate education by the Ministry of Education. The field of mechanical engineering was awarded the title of "National Characteristic Engineering Field for Engineering Master's Degree Education".

The school currently has more than 30,000 undergraduate students and postgraduate students of all kinds. The school has a teaching staff of over 1,300. The school has a strong teaching force with many distinguished teachers. The university has achieved remarkable research results and established a national engineering technology research center, an engineering technology center of the Ministry of Education, a key laboratory of the Ministry of Education jointly built by the Ministry and the province, and a key research base of humanities and social sciences in provincial universities.

The university has established long-term and stable intercollegiate cooperative relations with 49 institutions in the United States, Russia, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Korea, Finland, Taiwan and other countries and regions, and undertakes multiple Sino-foreign cooperative education programs at the undergraduate and master's levels.

Since 1995, the school has recruited and trained more than 4,000 international students from over 20 countries, including South Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, Nigeria, Vietnam, Turkey, the Philippines and Uganda. In electrical engineering and automation, architecture, international economics and trade, accounting, business administration, marketing, Chinese language and other majors, including Chinese language training, exchange students, preparatory students, undergraduate students taught in Chinese, undergraduate students taught entirely in English, master's students and many other training categories. The school has a Chinese language undergraduate program and four English-taught undergraduate programs, namely Electrical Engineering and Automation, Computer Science and Technology, Civil Engineering and International Economics and Trade. At present, the school is an institution approved by the Ministry of Education to receive "Chinese Government Scholarship Students" and "Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship Students", and has several government scholarship programs such as the "China-Russia People-to-people Exchange Special Scholarship".
