East China University of Political Science and Law

Founded in 1952, East China University of Political Science and Law is one of the first higher political science and law institutions established in the People 's Republic of China. It is a multi-disciplinary university with law as its main discipline and also with political science, economics, management, literature and other disciplines. The law program at the university was rated A by the Ministry of Education and is known as the "Oriental Pearl of legal education". Located in Shanghai, the economic center of China, the school has two campuses in Changning and Songjiang, covering an area of more than 750,000 square meters.

The school has more than 18,000 students of all kinds and more than 1,200 staff members; There are 21 colleges and more than 160 research institutions. The school has more than 1,000 full-time teachers, among whom nearly 400 hold senior professional titles. It was rated as excellent in both the 2002 and 2008 Ministry of Education evaluations of undergraduate teaching work. The school began its postgraduate education in 1981 and was approved to admit Master of Laws students in 1995. It was one of the first pilot units in the country. Postgraduate education has basically formed a "one body, two wings" pattern with law as the core, economics and management developing together, and academic and professional degrees advancing in coordination.

The university's international exchanges and cooperation have deepened, and it has established long-term cooperative relations with nearly 150 foreign universities and research institutions. There are three Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. In 2012, the university was qualified to receive Chinese government Scholarship international students, and in 2014, it became one of the six universities in the country to receive the "Chinese Government Excellence Scholarship". The school currently enrolls nearly 800 international students of all kinds in undergraduate, master's, doctoral, professional and Chinese language programs. From over 50 countries including South Korea, the United States, Russia, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Turkey, Ghana, Cape Verde, Cote d 'Ivoire, etc. The school has dedicated dormitories for international students on its two campuses. Changning Campus is located in the central area of Shanghai, adjacent to Zhongshan Park Business Park and Jing 'an business district, and close to Metro Lines 2, 3, 4 and 11.

The university publishes core law journals such as Law Journal and Journal of East China University of Political Science and Law. The library has 2.4 million volumes, more than 1,500 Chinese and foreign periodicals, 92 databases and 1.3 million e-books. It is the largest legal literature center in East China and ranks first among law schools in the country in terms of Chinese and foreign legal databases.
