Sichuan University, located in Chengdu, China, was founded in 1896. The campus is divided into four campuses: Wangjiang, Huaxi, Jiang 'an and Meishan. The facilities are complete and the environment is beautiful, providing a good learning and research environment for teachers and students. Sichuan University has a full range of 13 disciplines, covering various fields such as liberal arts, science, engineering, medicine, economics, management and law. It has several national key laboratories and research bases, and has abundant teaching resources and a strong faculty. Its research level in natural science, engineering technology, humanities and social sciences, medicine and other fields is at the forefront of the country. In 2025, Sichuan University was ranked 87th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Shanghairanking. In the latest ESI (Essential Science Indicators) data released in 2025, eight disciplines of Sichuan University, including chemistry, materials science, clinical medicine, pharmacology & toxicology, engineering, computer science, biology & biochemistry, entered the top 1,000 of ESI. 21 disciplines are in the top 1 percent of ESI. The university currently has more than 38,000 full-time undergraduate students, more than 33,000 postgraduate students, and nearly 3,000 international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
