Zhejiang Normal University, founded in 1956, is one of the top 100 universities in China. According to the 2025-2026 U.S.News Best Colleges ranking, our university is ranked 50th in China and 360th in the world.
Ten disciplines, including mathematics, chemistry, engineering, materials science, environment/ecology, computer science, zoology and botany, general social sciences, psychiatry/psychology, and physics, have entered the top 1% of ESI globally, and 15 disciplines have been listed as first-class disciplines in Zhejiang Province. According to the 2025 Shanghairanking Best Chinese Disciplines Ranking, our university's degree in regional and Country studies is ranked second among China's top disciplines. The university has 26 colleges, 71 undergraduate programs, 15 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 29 first-level discipline master's programs, 11 postdoctoral research stations, 50 national courses, 4 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 2 national "111 Program" discipline innovation and intelligence introduction bases.
The university has more than 50,000 students, including over 3,000 international students from more than 100 countries. International student graduates play a significant role in politics, economy, culture, education and other fields around the world. The school has well-equipped libraries, laboratories, gymnasiums, hospitals, supermarkets, etc. The campus is beautiful and green, making it an ideal place to live and study. The school's international exchanges and cooperation have been continuously advanced. It has established cooperative and exchange relations with more than 280 institutions of higher learning or educational institutions in over 60 countries and regions, and has set up the first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution in the country that focuses on education.
